The workshop does not add depth on this screen yet — that is the next stage, «sail 2026». In Adv the sail is counted by the same 2014 model as in Std+; what the ladder does add here is your own quiver.

This does not size a sail. It constrains the board: the rig you already own dictates how big it has to be.
A compatibility check: it catches pairs like a cambered race sail on a school board.
The number of boards is not a constant: one covers a narrow wind range, and does not cover a wide one.
A follow-up question. Two different boards live inside freeride: at the same volume they are 6–8 cm apart in width. It is the only class where the archetype needs a second question.
Your spot
Wind and water pick theclassof board, not just the litres. The defaults (medium / chop) give the same answer as Std.
Candidate — check a specific board
The reference was measured on 2019–2027 boards. For an older board the class cannot be read from width — we do not invent an era correction.
Second board — compare A and Bif choosing between two
Both boards are judged by the same rules, and the difference between them is stated as a number.
The app describes a board by archetype (class × volume) rather than by a brand catalogue: measuring 236 boards across 12 brands showed that for wave, freestyle and slalom the brand does not move width by more than ±1–2 cm. Where the class is genuinely blurred (freeride), the app asks a second question instead of hiding the spread.

Fin range
The one field we do not fill in for you, and that is not forgetfulness: tail width does not follow from volume. The survey gives anything from 31.9 cm (Starboard Hyper) to 41.5 (Goya Nitro) at 83–87 L — a spread of 9.6 cm, four times our corrections. A made-up number here would switch the checks «fin no longer than the tail and no shorter than a third of it» on and off at random, so empty is better.
On wave and freestyle-wave boards one hull carries different setups, and from ~110 L the same line moves to a single fin.
Box layout by model
The box is the one thing the archetype cannot derive: 19 layouts across 14 brands. Here it is looked up in a table rather than computed.
The order of the calculation: the box cuts off hard → the board width gives the length range → the sail picks the point inside it → weight and level shift it. Stay within ±3 cm of the board's range.
